David has extensive experience of managing and commissioning services for children families and communities.
David is a successful senior manager, in the public and voluntary sectors, operating at both a national and local level. He has a track record of service improvement, managing change and the implementing innovative business solutions in Youth, Community and Leisure Services. He is highly motivated with a proven ability to develop people and services. David is well networked and successful in raising organisational profile, achieving goals, managing change and optimising business opportunities
He was previously responsible for a local authority young people’s service in the West Midlands responsible for a service with a budget of over £5 million. He has managed Youth Service, Healthy Schools, Drugs Education & Treatment Service, Residential Education Centres, Play Service, Supported Leisure, Community Centres and the commissioning of PE & Sports. He has also organised large-scale events such as a two-day annual Community Show, a youth music festival and in partnership with the Sikh community, the tercentenary celebration of Vaisakhi.
David has spoken at national and European events, on the state of youth work in England and the challenges it faces.
David established DJW consultants in 2014 and through it, he provided leadership support for a national youth work charity, developed and delivered a programme, to review the impact of a local authority young people’s service contribution to the borough’s early help strategy and also drafted funding applications.
Liz Reynolds has significant experience in youth and community development work and is a qualified teacher and adult learning tutor.
She is a trained Planning for Real practitioner helping design and facilitate community engagement programmes reaching and gathering views from all sections of communities, including those whose voice is rarely heard.
Liz has extensive knowledge and practical experience of working on and project managing, following Prince2 principles, regeneration programmes in London, Norfolk and Stoke on Trent.
Liz has also worked with, and for, a number of voluntary and charitable organisations. Her expertise includes recruiting and training volunteers and trustees, developing training programmes and supporting successful applications for funding. She has delivered a range of government initiatives such as Troubled Families, Adult Job Creation Programmes, Youth Training Schemes, City Challenge and Single Regeneration Budget.
Liz is also a director of a Community Interest Company, developing youth work initiatives in Staffordshire. Projects have included designing and delivering mentoring programmes and Drugs and Alcohol training, along with a number of other youth offers to schools, youth organisations and NCS delivery bodies .

DEVELOPMENT & TRAINING
We provide a range of training for organisations and charities. We work alongside local organisations to identify their training needs and support them to obtain resources to meet these needs.

DJW have been instrumental in quality assuring our commissioned youth work provision, helping us shape and measure what we really want and need from our commissioned provision and helping us to better measure and evidence impact. David acted as Chief Executive of CHYPS, from 2010 until 2014 where he provided strategic support and advice to the Board, developed and delivered the organisation’s business plan. During that time, he managed the transition of the organisation into a limited company and a registered charity. He also organised the successful Annual Conferences, policy seminars and represented CHYPS members at a national and regional level.
